First Dublin to Cancun flight to depart next Monday

We dream of holidaying in the more exotic locations – but often transfers make the dream a nightmare – but from Monday Cancun is in reach with just one flight from Dublin.

The Embassy of Mexico has announced the inauguration of the very first direct flight Dublin-Cancun this Monday at 9.35 am.

Operated by Falcon Holidays and Thompson with a 787 Dreamliner aircraft, the flight will operate on a weekly basis for six weeks.

Cancun is not only one of the most attractive and popular tourist destinations in Mexico, but is also a connection point to other famous attractions like Playa del Carmen and the famous Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza.

A great connection point to major cities in Mexico, the United States, Central America and South America, this Dublin-Cancun flight will not only appeal to vacationers but also to businessmen.

This flight represents the only direct flight from Ireland to Mexico and it also one the quickest routes connecting Europe and the American continent.

According to the Mexican Tourism Board, in 2015 the number of Irish tourists travelling to Mexico was more than 24 thousand passengers, 10.6% more than the previous year.

Mexico receives more Irish tourists per capita than other European nationals of countries like Germany, Holland or Italy.

A spokeswoman from the Mexican Embassy said:  “The flow of tourists from Ireland to Mexico endured even during the worst of the Irish economic crisis. The impressive recovery of the Irish economy, along with the optimistic outlook for 2016 in both countries, allows us to predict that this trend will remain.”

A holiday, including a seven day four star hotel and flights from Dublin to Cancun is priced currently at €1759 per person.
