It’s May day for 95-year-old Donegal woman

Hello, my name is May.  I’m 95-years-young and am from Muff, Co Donegal, but currently live in Quigley’s Point.

Life was hard work when I was younger and I earned little pay.

But I was rewarded with family and great, life-long friends.  And it’s not over yet.

As a child, I helped out on the family farm after school.

Then I worked in the shirt factories.

I’m the eldest of seven children and I had to be mother to six brothers.

It’s just me and one brother, Vincent, left now.

I try to enjoy everyday.
