This video clip of three fishermen rescued in gale force conditions by a volunteer lifeboat crew from the Kinsale RNLI has been watched almost 400,000 times on Facebook.
The RNLI volunteers Nick Searls, Jim Grennan and Matthew Teehan, were praised on Facebook for their bravery as the 20 metre fishing trawler almost toppled over in rough waters, threatening to take the fishermen with it.
The footage was recorded by an onboard camera as the boat was forced on to the rocks at Moneypoint at the approach to Kinsale Harbour.
The RNLI said: “It gives you some sense of the terrifying ordeal suffered by the three fishermen who were brought to safety. Good job and to all the other volunteer crew members who were involved back in the station.”
