Thousands march against Donald Trump in Dublin

Thousands gathered at a rally against Donald Trump as the U.S president’s visit to Ireland entered its second day.
Protesters of all ages gathered in the Dublin at the Garden of Remembrance, carrying banners slating President Trump’s stance on various issues including equality and climate change.
The now famous Trump baby blimp was also flying in the air as protesters chanted ‘Dump Trump’.

Various groups gathered together to show many in Ireland did not welcome Trump in the country.
Trump is currently staying in Co Clare, where his family runs the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg.

The president had enjoyed what was deemed a PR success in London, when he visited the Royal family but his visit to Ireland was not so successful due to his immediately relating the Mexican wall to Ireland’s concerns about a border re-emergence with the triggering of Brexit.
Extinction Rebellion Clare, Futureproof Clare, the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Gaza Action Ireland, the Irish War Movement, and others, took part in the protest.

Trump had attended a D-Day commemoration in Normandy earlier today. He is due to leave his Doonbeg hotel tomorrow.
